The Historic Village at Allaire is a living history museum that operates on the site of a once-bustling iron town known as The Howell Iron Works, and operates a multi-faceted living history program out of 13 original buildings that remain on site. As a volunteer with the Village, you’ll share the sights, sounds, sensations, and stories of life in early industrial America as you share the Village’s story with visitors at our various homes, craft shops, and community spaces. Try your hand at cooking on a 300-year old stove, share the classics of historic carpentry or tinning, get comfortable at the forge in our Blacksmith’s Shop, teach our visitors to play 19th-century games and more! New volunteers must attend a one-hour orientation before their first day in the Village. Once you have become an active volunteer, we ask that you devote at least one five-hour shift per month to our organization.

The purpose of the Covid Catalog is to celebrate the lives of those we have lost to SARS Cov2, by giving these souls a permanent place to be remembered. It helps grieving families heal and gives them a place to go that cared that their loved one was lost. The Covid Catalog has two other sections: The Covid Update – first-person accounts of dealing with Covid, from frontline staff doctors and nurses to grieving family members and essential workers. The Covid Report is a reporting on the manifestations of SARS Cov2 from institutions, organizations and groups of scientists and doctors; a science-bassed section on guidance, presentation, treatment and prevention. The Covid Catalog is first and foremost the permanent place for memorials and celebrations. The Catalog is literally a place of celebration rather than just a record of death, with institutions, frontline doctors, nurses, staff, and essential workers all reporting and updating constantly.
